Costa Brava reopen the enotouristic activities

Sixteen wineries on the Ruta del Vi DO Empordà reopen their doors, adapting to the current situation and with various innovations.

Wine tourism is a safe leisure activity, since most proposals take place outdoors and in small or personalized groups.

In June 1, the date on which the demarcation of Girona entered phase 2 of the Plan for De-climbing, on the occasion of COVID-19, sixteen wineries on the Costa Brava have resumed their wine tourism activities, implementing safety and hygiene measures.

The sixteen wineries that have already opened have done so by adapting their activity to the current situation, a fact that has led to the introduction of numerous novelties in the destination’s wine tourism offer: from the provision of new open-air spaces where tastings, such as The Masia Serra winery has made exclusive gastronomic experiences between vineyards, such as the new wine bar at the Mas Geli winery, or appetizers and barbecues at La Vinyeta. Culture, health and well-being are the leitmotif of the proposal “wine evenings and fresh music”, from the Vinyes d’Olivardots winery, or yoga and mindfulness activities among vineyards, at the Martín Faixó winery or the group Oliveda. The rest of the cellars, which have not yet opened, fourteen, are being adapted to be able to do so with the maximum guarantees during phase 3 and 4.

The novelties in the enotouristic offer of the Costa Brava go beyond the wineries, since many companies of the Ruta del Vi DO Empordà are also restarting their activity with innovative actions. Most restaurants, including Compartir, from Cadaqués, Can Cervera, from Roses, or Vicus and Es Portal, from Pals, have incorporated a takeaway menu. Likewise, new spaces have been enabled, such as Es Portal Terraza, with 10,000 m2 of outdoor space. The menus of the restaurants have also been adapted to this situation, as the La Calèndula restaurant in Regencós has done. As for the accommodations, while there are hotels already in operation, such as the Park Hotel San Jorge & Spa and the Mas Espelt, most choose to open their facilities in the course of June, on June 15 in the in the case of the Moments Rurals accommodation, d’Espolla, or on June 26 in the case of the Peralada Wine Spa & Golf Hotel, in Peralada.
