DISCOVER THE LAND OF EMPORDÀ WITH THE NEW INTERACTIVE MAP!

THE DIVERSITY OF TERRRORS THAT MAKES OUR WINERY UNIQUE

This month we want to share with you a fundamental part of the character of our wines: the land of Empordà. The diversity of soils that our environment offers is one of the factors that contributes to the uniqueness and quality of our wines. Our vineyards, located in different parts of the Alt Empordà area, are planted in different soils that give different identities to each variety.

The Comamilla vineyard is planted in an alluvial terrain with the presence of pebbles, since in the past, in this terrain, there had been riverbeds that crossed from north to south, passing through the entire Alt Empordà plain.

For a few years, we have been immersed in recovering native varieties such as white carignan and red carignan, planting new hectares of vines, an essential task of our commitment to the protection and preservation of viticulture in our region. So much so that our Rosa d’Amfora, the rosé wine from the Finca Olivardots range, is a one hundred percent Carinyena red monovarietal.

By clicking on the Terrain Map, you will be able to explore and distinguish the various types of soil found in the Alt Empordà, as well as their specific characteristics and the varieties planted there. This interactive map is a visual tool to get to know in detail the diversity of the landscape territory, allowing you to identify the particularities of each type of soil.

We would like to highlight two areas of great importance such as the Serralada de l’Albera, a natural area known for its landscape biodiversity and which also acts as a border with our French neighbors. On the other hand, Cap de Creus, located at the eastern end of the peninsula, an emblematic area of the Costa Brava landscape.
