Guía Peñín scores have already come out
Once again, according to the Spanish wines reference guide Guía Peñín 2023, the Empordà cellar of Vinyes d’Olivardots obtains a successful score of more than 90 points in all their wines
GROC D’ÀMFORA 2021: 42% White Grenache, 33% Grey Grenache and 25% Macabeo. The grapes come from autochthonous varieties from ancient vineyards with an average of 80 years old. The soil is formed by pebbles, sand and granite. Fermentation and ageing in 700-1.000L clay amphorae during 4 months.
GRESA 2015: Grenache 45%, Carignan 35% and Syrah 20%. Sandy, granitic and slate soil. Long maceration and pressing at very low pressure. Ageing process in French oak barrels, takes 15 months, combining fine and extra fine grain to obtain more complexity.
6.19 WHITE CARIGNAN-SANDY SOIL: 100% White carignan. The grape variety comes from a very old single vineyard -110 years old- grown on a gravelly and sandy soil. The wine ferments into an inox vat at lox temperature, remaining in contact with its lees for 8 months.
1.15 CARIGNAN-SALTE SOIL: 100% Carignan. It is made from the best grapes of two plots: “Vinya de l’Avi” planted in 1946 and “El Roqué” planted in 1969 both have slate soil. Long maceration and pressing at very low pressure. Aged for 16 month in French oak barrels. Bottled without fining or filtering.
2.15 CARIGNAN- SANDY SOIL: 100% Carignan. The wine comes from old carignan bush vines from selected plot “Hort d’en Joan” planted in 1909 on sandy soil. Long maceration and pressing at very low pressure. Aged for 16 month in French oak barrels. Bottled without fining or filtering.
