4th of August 2022, a date we will remember forever: The earliest harvest in Emporda’s history.

The data and the facts can’t change. It’s more than obvious that we are facing climate change maybe even faster than we initially thought. In the recent years grape harvest date has had to be changed from early September to early August. This year has been remarkably hard as the three heat waves ant the water scarcity has lead to us harvesting our first grapes the 4th of August.

The white grapes varieties are, as always, the first ones to pick. In our case white and grey granache have already left the vineyard to enter the winery!

We are happy though that even with the climate difficulties the grape harvest looks as healthy as we’d like and if everything remains as it is the grape quality is going to be really high. Here in Vinyes d’Olivardots we are ready to start the wine season, that’s it’s certainly going to be unforgettable.
