THE BEGINNING of
vinyes d'olivardots

Born out of the passion for the wine world, Carme Casacuberta, graduate in chemistry and oenologist by profession, together with her husband Antoni Pena, an industrial engineer, with a deep love for nature and driven by an illusion, decided to give life to their dream: create quality wines that express the character and personality of the Empordà landscapes.

So, our winery Vinyes d’Olivardots was born in 2002 planting of the first 4 hectares of vineyard, in the village of Capmany, at the beautiful middle of the Olivardots parage.

FIRST HARVEST

In 2006, the most awaited moment arrives, the first vintage!

An interpretation of all the learning and training received during all the years of construction, the dream became reality, the first bottles and our first wine, Gresa.

From the beginning we were clear about working with an ecological viticulture, seeking maximum respect for nature, as well as pampering every detail in the care and selection of the autochthonous grapes of the Empordà Denomination of Origin.

PRESENT

Ten years later, in early 2016, a new generation joined the winery, our daughter Carlota Pena.

Another woman winemaker and passionate about vines and wine, who decided to follow in her mother’s footsteps. With her enthusiasm and fresh perspective, she brings new ideas and challenges that drive this enthusiastic family project towards new horizons.

Vinyes d’Olivardots continues to increase in sustainability with the start of working in biodynamic viticulture and phytotherapy.
